Water conservation:

The use of fresh water in our operations is monitored and consumption-optimized.

The following steps are taken to monitor and conserve the use of freshwater efficiently.

 

• Identifying potential areas of freshwater consumption.
• Monthly & batch-wise monitoring use of water against production.
• Inducting awareness on water conservation to our task force.
• Eliminating visual measurements and using a water flow meter to input only the required amount of water.
• Monitoring daily water consumption.
• Eliminating unwanted water dispensing locations.

 

Energy Usage:

DABBAGH has systematically reduced emissions year on year through increased efficiency of our operational systems and improved energy performance by installing Solar panels thereby reducing carbon emissions and the environmental footprint of Operations.

In Stores - Saved CO2 Emissions: 83,346.50 Kg - Equivalent Tree Planting: 2,643 no’s

 

Waste Management:

DABBAGH has adopted the principles of ‘best practicable environmental option’ in its waste management system.

Ensuring that waste management is performed in accordance with all waste legislative requirements, including for future legislative changes and to mitigate their effects.

Minimizing waste generation at source and facilitating reuse and recycling over the disposal of wastes in a cost-effective manner.

Providing clearly defined roles and responsibilities to identify and coordinate each activity of waste management.

Promoting & supporting environmental awareness in order to increase and encourage waste minimization, reuse, and recycling.

Ensuring the safe handling and storage of wastes.

Inducting necessary training for our task force on waste management issues.

Promoting a holistic approach to waste management.

 

Chemical Management:

DABBAGH is committed to ensuring the effective use of chemical substances and avoiding the adverse impact of such substances that may be harmful or hazardous to humans and the environment in all its operations.

Also ensured that the products, input materials, and manufacturing operations comply with the mandatory requirements, and customers’ specifications and fall in line with the sustainability goals of DABBAGH.

This is being achieved in the following ways:

 

• Compliance with all relevant legislation relating to the use of hazardous as well others chemicals.
• Cradle-to-cradle design of the processes, completely in compliance with the requirements and specifications of customers.
• Selection and procurement of chemicals.
• Proper and judicial use of all chemicals.
• Optimizing the uptake of chemicals.
• Reducing waste is agreeable for easier treatment, recycling, and leading to a circular economy.

 

DABBAGH is also registered with Zero Discharge of Hazardous Chemicals (ZDHC) to ensure the procurement and application of environmentally friendly chemicals.

Dabbagh Deri is a member of the Leatherworking group since 2018 and presently obtained a Gold rating.
